I visit Pittsburgh at least once a year and get tears in my eyes everytime I come out of the tunnel and see the City for the first time. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and have wonderful memories that these pictures bring back.

Thanks.

These photos are a far cry (something I did as I saw all these heart warming photos) from my early days of living in Latrobe and going to the "burgh" in the late 40's and early 50's. Then the industry and the air was all sooty and at 10:00 AM it was more like 10:00 PM but still the home of the Eskimo Pie and Isley's. Be proud Pittsburgh you are the only real American City.

Beautiful photos. Glad you included shots of the old neighborhood. I grew up in Pittsburgh but left in 1960 and most of these pictures are not the city I once knew. This is a good thing.

The picture of the strip brought back memories of myself and cousins unloading a railroad car of watermelons from the South, that my Grandfather was selling to the local vegetable hucksters, thats what they called them. Some of them still used horses to pull their loads up the Pittsburgh Hills. I'm glad they saved that part of Pittsburgh's histoy The photography is terrific.
