Thank You so much for sharing these photos with us on your web site. A friend seen this site to me last year and every now and then I get homesick and just want to see the burgh I look at you site.
I live in Florida now ( 4 years ) and Pittsburgh will always be home.
January 7th, 2007 at 4:48 pm
Thank You for sharing these photos on your web site, I moved to Florida 16 months ago and the thing that I miss the most is the Skyline of the “City Of Pittsburgh” and of course Primante Brothers sandwich.
Thank you very much!

Thanks for capturing more breath taking pictures of the great city of Pittsburgh!
January 8th, 2007 at 7:28 am
Your pics are beautiful. You do not realize how beautiful the city is until you are gone. If you ever get a chance some Penguin pics would be cool. That would be really great since now talk of them moving! (say it isn’t so)
Thanks for sharing, I have your website bookmarked and check it often.
January 9th, 2007 at 1:44 pm
These pics are great thank you
January 9th, 2007 at 7:17 pm
Don’t you just love the ‘Burgh? The rivers, the bridges, the hills, haven’t found a city like it yet!
January 14th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
Awesome pictures, thank you. My heart still belongs in Pittsburgh.

I moved to North Carolina in October and the only thing I miss about Pittsburgh is the skyline! Thank you so much for creating this website and taking all of these beautiful pictures. I often look at this website when I need to take a minute to relax or to cheer up. THANK YOU!!!!!
January 15th, 2007 at 4:31 pm
You have done it again.. Captured Pittsburgh at her finest. I will treasure these forever and my husband and I are preparing to go to Asheville, NC to look for jobs. That is the only thing Pittsburgh does not have to offer right now. My husband lost his job after 32 + years when the company closed. He is 58 and can’t find a job around here. He did HVAC in the Beaver County area for most of those years and the businesses he contacted have his resume on hold because they are all slow right now. The unemployment ran out at the end of November so we are in a bind. Our only alternative is to move. I hate to leave but we have to go where there is work….Our hearts will still be here…
January 15th, 2007 at 9:33 pm

I am looking forward to seeing some pictures with snow!

beautiful city. Keep on sharing.
January 23rd, 2007 at 5:40 am
Great pictures of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. I’m living in Indianapolis and it doesn’t compare to the lights and people of Pittsburgh. Since leaving the University of Pittsburgh in 1988, I also like the pictures of Pitt. Thank you for sharing these pictures.
January 23rd, 2007 at 11:48 am
Absolutely beautiful. I always knew that our skyline was as good or better than any other city in the US. As our slogan said you have a friend in Pennsylvania. Come and see for yourself
January 23rd, 2007 at 3:48 pm
We are Pittsburghers spending the winter months in Naples, Florida. We could not have had anything better to look at
while here and feeling a bit homesick @ times.
January 23rd, 2007 at 7:51 pm

What great shots of my hometown. Been away a long time working for the U. S.Navy in Italy, but I’m always proud to say I’m from the “Burgh” when folks ask me where I’m from!
January 31st, 2007 at 9:42 am
i have been in houston for 28 years…. it is a beautiful city, modern, clean, and the skyline is one of the most beautiful in this great nation… however…. it does not compare to the steel city! i use a combination of your photographs and mine for a slide show when my computer is at rest.

January 31st, 2007 at 8:59 pm
i want to thank you for bringing the memories of Pittsburgh back to me. Although there have been many changes, most of it is still the way I remember it. I left in 1968 at age 35 and after many moves, i settled in georgia. But, I really never left because I took Pittsburgh with me in my heart.

February 3rd, 2007 at 10:27 am
Like many of us born, raised and still living here in Pittsburgh, I’m extremely proud to tell anyone and everyone that I’m from the ” Burg “. The shot from Mt. Washington is the first place I take visitors. It always amazes them how beautiful Pittsburgh really is, and I’m always amazed at how lucky I am to call it my home. Thanks for sharing.
February 3rd, 2007 at 11:00 am
Thanks for showing this beautiful city. It didn’t look like that 50 yrs ago. What did you do with the smog?
February 3rd, 2007 at 11:33 am
Born and raised in Pittsburgh area. Lived away from it for 40 years, but still think of it as home. It gets more beautiful with the years. Thank you for sharing it in these terriffic photos.
February 3rd, 2007 at 12:07 pm
After viewing all the pictures and reviewing all the comments from people that have left the area, I now know why I can not wait to go back to visit at least three times a year. I always make at least one Steeler game! South Carolina is beautiful but I miss Pittsburgh also.
February 3rd, 2007 at 3:30 pm
In 1943 you couldn’t even see downtown from ‘Mahnt Washington.’ All of the steel mills were going full blast and we were having blackouts at least twice a week. That’s where Pgh. earned it’s nickname of a ‘dirty city.’ Doesn’t look like it now.
February 3rd, 2007 at 5:07 pm
I am sending to all my alumnae friends and 2 of my kids. They are GREAT!!!
February 3rd, 2007 at 6:42 pm

February 3rd, 2007 at 11:08 pm
Like I always say - “THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME”. Once a Pittsburgher, always a Pittsburgher……Thanks for the beautiful photos of our great city……….
February 3rd, 2007 at 11:12 pm
One of our Dormont High School Classmates from mmm years ago
sent us these beautiful pictures. I still have family there but haven’t lived there since college. Your pictures really capture the strength of Pittsburgh alonw with the many chances & glances to see beauty all around you!
I have a suggestion - is it possible to do a series of photos of Phipps Conservatory?? I keep telling my family about Phipps but I’m afraid words just don’t do it justice! Of course, it’s possible that they might not allow it, but given your artistic abilities, they just might agree!! Thank you again. Sal
February 4th, 2007 at 4:56 am
What great shots of a great city! Born and raised in the “burg” and still refer to it as home even though we have been away about 30 years.Thinking of moving back, since employment is no longer a priority. It was the reason we left in the first place. Our hearts will always be there.
February 4th, 2007 at 11:12 am
These pictures of Pittsburgh are truly moving to say the least!
Thanks so much for sharing!

We have retired to the beach, and loving it, but home is home, and Pittsburgh is IT forever. Re-read “The Women of Troy Hill” a must read for Pittsburghers. Shows what heart the people of the city have. Absolutely beautiful photos! Matt Robinson is immensley talented! Bio, please?
February 4th, 2007 at 4:59 pm
Loved your pictures. They make Pittsburgh look like the grand lady she is and I can’t wait to share them with other Pittsburghers here in Florida.
February 4th, 2007 at 10:25 pm
what a glorious array of pictures. pittsburgh can compare favourably with any city anywhere!
February 5th, 2007 at 4:04 am
Beuteful pictures of Pittsburgh!! I find the city wonderful and I have the most wonderful friend there which makes the city even more beuteful. I love the time time I spent there over New Year (1st night), in the frost, snow and cold. And I love the time I have spent there in the summer, when it is warm and wonderful, walking around and haveing coffie outside. And I am looking forward to come again!
February 5th, 2007 at 10:28 am
Wow, thesse are the most amazing pictures. My family moved to Florida in 1969. This is the way I would like to remember the Pittsburgh that I grew up in.
February 5th, 2007 at 11:45 am
We left Pgh. in 1969 and your pictures make Pgh. look great. Outstanding photographs. Thank you!
February 5th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
I can’t wait to show my husband Keith pictures of Pittsburgh. He’s still a Burgh boy at heart, even though he’s been under a southern influence for over 20 years.
February 5th, 2007 at 12:24 pm
I went to Pittsburgh in 2001 and I have never felt more at home in another city…and now looking at these pictures “I feel homesick”…..
February 5th, 2007 at 12:32 pm
These pictures are fabulous! Plan to share them with my children and family who no longer live in Pittsburgh as well as those still living in town. Thank you..
February 5th, 2007 at 3:29 pm
Thank you so much for this site! If only Pgh’s economic outlook were as pretty as your pictures, I’d be home in a minute…
Do you have any shots of CMU or the East End?
February 5th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
Only been to PGH twice. Once in the sixties for an Army vs Pitt football game and again in the seventies for a college graduation. Poured both times but after seeing these pics I’m looking forward to another visit, but longer.
February 5th, 2007 at 4:00 pm
I’ve never been to Pittsburgh, my mom was born there, wow how beautiful it is, I would love to go see it in person, maybe someday!! Awesome Pics!!
February 5th, 2007 at 4:25 pm
2o years ago I experienced the view of the city from the tunnel. Everytime I see this view I fall in love with the city and the people that are there that we love so much.
February 6th, 2007 at 7:59 am
Where do we purchase some?
February 6th, 2007 at 5:02 pm
A friend asked if we made it safely through the Central Florida tornadoes. We replied “yes, but we sometimes wonder why we ever left Pittsburgh.” After viewing these beautiful photos, we wonder even more!!!
February 7th, 2007 at 8:37 am
Thank you for making Pittsburgh look so good!
We enjoyed your photos!

February 7th, 2007 at 11:33 am
Spectacular photos. They capture the essence of what I consider to be “My City” even though I no longer live there. Thank you.
February 7th, 2007 at 2:00 pm
Spectacular photos and website! I only live 125 miles from Pittsburgh now, but the photos sure make me homesick.
February 7th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
So beautiful, truly makes where i live look so boring!
February 7th, 2007 at 11:42 pm
I was born on Reed St, Hill District, 91 years ago. The transformation from grimy, cobblestone streets to one of our most beautiful cities is a tribute to the people and leaders of Pittsburgh. I live in Deerfield Beach, Fl and have fond memories of younz folks back home. Thanks so much for these precious pictures. I would like to have seen a picture of Carnegie Museum (beside Warhol) and Schenley Park.
February 8th, 2007 at 11:30 am
Awesome photos! I worked Downtown and on the Northside. Loved seeing all the special places again. Been in Philly 21 years. Philly ain’t the ‘burgh!
February 8th, 2007 at 1:00 pm
How beautiful. I live in San Diego now, but will never get over leaving my hometown. I miss Pittsburgh and the people terribly. There is no other city like it! Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures!
February 8th, 2007 at 2:42 pm
What art, thou hast given us! See not everyone from Pittsburgh uses slang…doncha’ know. That’s what i miss about Pittsburgh…the wonderful friendly conversations and humor from passersby as you look at the view, or you walk the bridges everyday to get to work, or standing in lines everywhere. Living in Naples, Florida for almost ten years, i like to say that ‘Pittsburgh is a great city to be from’…and no one ever disagrees–even New Yorkers! My favorite view is from the middle of the West End Bridge. Does the ‘pirogy patrol’ still shush you away when you stop to take in that view? Loved the pictures of Pitt, too. 32 years of working daily in downtown…it all comes back when you look at your art.
February 8th, 2007 at 6:23 pm
I live in Ohio now, but I loved the pictures of Pittsburgh. I always liked walking around downtown when I was going to school. It is a beautiful city. Thanks for the pictures.
February 8th, 2007 at 7:32 pm
I was born in Mon-City and my wife in Charleroi. We both live in New Jersey, since 1990, with our two daughters Laura and Rachel. Whenever I see pictures like these, it really makes me homesick ’cause you can take the boy out of the burgh but not the ‘burgh out of the boy. Peoples Almanac had a right a few years back and I will not be content until my wife and I are back with all of yinz eatin’ a hoagie or a chipped ham sammich…
February 9th, 2007 at 12:13 am
Awesome, awesome and more awesome, nice job to whoever took these pictures. They keep the
memory alive, its been 11 years and running since I left family and friends and went to NY,
we love Pittsburgh and hope to return soon. You can take the people out of Pittsburgh but you will never take the Pittsburgh out of the people. Gooooo Steelers!!!!!!!
February 9th, 2007 at 1:34 pm
My husband and kids and I were all born and raised in Pittsburgh. We all miss it. It was great seeing these photos of the Burgh. You know the saying that you always will find a Pittsburgher where ever you go, we just moved to Texas 2 years ago and we have run into all kinds of Pittsburghers. Like one person noted that you can take the person out of Pittsburgh, but not Pittsburgh out the person. What a great home town. Thank you so much for the memories and the photos.
February 9th, 2007 at 3:14 pm
Moved to Missouri in 1979. The countryside is allot like Pennsylvania, but nothing compares to the city of Pittsburgh. I grew up in Wilkinsburg. We come back quite often, at least every couple of years. It will always be home even though my family is gone from there. Thank you for sharing
February 9th, 2007 at 6:04 pm
Lookin good!
thanks,
God Bless you and Pittsburgh too
February 9th, 2007 at 8:51 pm
I was born in McGee Hospital in 1929 and lived nearby for 21 years. Pittsburgh’s steelmaking was the backbone of the war effort in the 40’s. I can still remember the Bessemer furnaces lighting up the sky along the Mon. I can remember the coal soot from coal burning home furnaces as well as the dirt from the steelmills and foundries. Pittsburgh has truly had a renaissance and it is the jewel city in the East today. Congratulations to the movers and shakers that made it that way!
February 9th, 2007 at 10:10 pm
Excellent photos, or should I say works of art!!!! I started in photography about 18 months ago and I can appreciate the beauty of these presentations. Thanks for sharing.
February 10th, 2007 at 8:40 am
BEAUTIFUL PITTSBURGH. the only city where you can stand on the ground (Mt Washington, West End, Troy Hill, etc) and look down on its beautiful skyline. It was voted the second most beautiful view in the country (the Grand Canyon being #1)
I’ve lived in Pittsburgh all of my life and there is no other city like it. I have travelled to many major cities around the world. After much consideration, I’ve decided that the only other place that I would live, would be Paris:)
I’m just so in love with Pittsburgh because its true beauty is in the PEOPLE that live here (and that were born here for you out-of-towners) Pittsburgh has a long history of producing people that are proud, hard-working, and loyal. Our forefathers built this city with their blood, sweat, and tears, and I’m proud to call it home.
Remember, we are the FRIENDLY city and I well anyone to come and visit/live with us.
February 10th, 2007 at 9:48 am
Looking good Pittsburgh!!!
February 10th, 2007 at 7:15 pm

The others have covered my thoughts except for Thanks for the pieces of home! How about a way to buy one of the ones you don’t have marked for sale? I also have to wonder if you wear disguises so as not to run afoul of the law.

February 13th, 2007 at 10:46 am
Sometimes those of us lucky enough to live and work in Pittsburgh need to be reminded just how beautiful our city is!
Thank you for so great a refreshment of our heritage.
February 13th, 2007 at 3:06 pm
What’s not to love about P-burgh; is the circular theater (Civic Center?) still there with the roof that opens? I saw Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich’s orchestra kill that place with my first true love. We moved in 1968, but when people ask me, “where’d you grow up?”, I’m proud to say Pittsburgh and see the stange question mark appear on their faces.
I wish the people in the pics could talk, I really miss hearing the unique and wonderful Pgh accent!
February 13th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1970, and its a beautiful place; but I left MY Heart in Pittsburgh!!!!
February 13th, 2007 at 4:13 pm
Great shots. I love Pitttsburgh. Greatest city to live in and I hope I never have to leave.
February 13th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
Beautiful pictures. I live in Johnstown and a Pitt gradute. I always enjoying to Pittsburgh it is my second home.
February 13th, 2007 at 7:21 pm
I have been away from the Pittsburgh area since 1958 and Pittsburgh was absolutely nothing like it is today. It was smokey and really nothing pretty about it. I worked there from 1954 to 1956 and just wanted to get in and out of the city. Now that I see this city that has done a complete turn-around, it really makes me so very homesick. I want to visit the city and see everything, including the tour up and down the river, seeing the new stadium, going up on the Tram and looking down on the most beautiful city I have ever seen in our travels around the country. Thank you, thank you for sharing such beauty with us. I will send this to all my e-mail family and friends.
February 13th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
I have been away from the Pittsburgh area since 1958 and there was nothing beautiful about Pittsburgh then to brag about but look at “her” now. The most beautiful city we have ever seen during all our travels across this country. Can’t wait to get back to visit everything. Thank you, thank you for sharing such beauty with us. Will send to all my e-mail buddies.
February 13th, 2007 at 8:18 pm
I am sitting here crying because I am so homesick. It truly is a wonderful city and I miss her so much. Everything everyone has said about her has kept me crying, just to know that our city is so loved and appreciated. pgh people are the best people anywhere. It was so great having my little favorite places to go like waldorf’s bakery in squirrel hill, mineo’s pizza and the great corned beef sandwiches there not to mention the strip and wonderful phipps. what great places to cherish in my mind.
February 13th, 2007 at 8:46 pm
My parents dragged me kicking and screaming to live in Los Angeles in 1955. ‘Have lived near San Francisco for 41 years and love it here in northern California, but Pittsburgh is still home. I have two uncles and many cousins still living in the ‘burgh and get back to see them every chance my husband and I get. We had tickets to fly to Pittsburgh the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 and ended up driving back for a wedding in Shadyside. There’s no city like Pittsburgh and no people like Pittsburghers. Congratulations on a beautiful portfolio of incredible photographs.

February 14th, 2007 at 1:57 pm
My boyfriend always says what a dirty run down loser city Pgh is - how can he say that with all of those beautifully captured photos? This city is beautiful, day or night.
February 14th, 2007 at 2:17 pm
I was born & raised in Pittsburgh, but moved to Florida in 1976 for work. Pgh is so beautiful & unique. Looking at your wonderful photos, I feel homesick. Like so many others have said; Once a Pittsburgher — always a Pittsburgher and of course - ALWAYS A STEELER FAN. (I was so said when they tore down Three Rivers Stadium - many great memories there!) Thanks so much & keep up the great work!!! You are very talented - you captured the essence of our great hometown!
February 14th, 2007 at 5:36 pm
Enjoyed the Pgh. photos—Beautiful work & it makes me proud to be from PITTSBURG,PA…And as a lot of us know–We even have our own language book—Pittsburghese !!!!!
February 14th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
Although I’m now living in Huntington Beach, CA, every year I came back to the burg - to visit my parents and friends. What memories I have left behind. Nothing can replace the green, green grass of summer and people who will remain your friends until the end of time. Great job on the photos.
February 14th, 2007 at 8:31 pm
WOW! Amazing pictures! I will definitely share to the out of town friends I have. Thanks!
February 14th, 2007 at 11:21 pm
Only lived in Pittsburgh for 2 years, 68 & 69 but that was enough to make the Steelers my home team and Pittsburgh my favorite city.
February 15th, 2007 at 8:36 am
I was sent the pictures from family in Pittsburgh. What a fantastic city! It is no wonder they are proud to live there!!
February 15th, 2007 at 1:54 pm
Moved west in 81 and I have only made it back a few times since. These pics have me thinking of a visit this summer, thanks!
How bout someone taking some pictures of the greatest restaturants in the burgh, now that would get me back!
February 15th, 2007 at 2:43 pm
These pictures are so awesome for us folks who moved away from the Burgh, makes me homesick.
February 15th, 2007 at 5:02 pm
Never realized how beautiful the city was when I lived there. I miss it the more I am gone. The South has nothing on the Burgh.
February 15th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
Isn’t it funny how Western (Pittsburgh) PA people never get that out of their blood. I live in Medford Oregon and we have a beautiful skyline ha ha (all mountains). I will always love Pittsburgh. I am visiting again this September. I come back almost every year. I have a brother-in-law in Greensburg he’s originally from Florida but to hear him talk he is from Pittsburgh. He works there. Thanks for the pics they are great
February 15th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
Beautiful pics of the City. We enjoyed them. Thank you to all who made them possible. Living in Ohio, now, we travelled each day to the wonderful city and back. Miss it!
February 16th, 2007 at 12:49 pm
These photos are fabulous. Now if it didn’t snow and go below zero, nobody could afford to live here. I love Florida and have been here for over 20 years but I will always be a Pittsburgher for life.
February 17th, 2007 at 11:02 am
Congratulations, you have successfully brought Pittsburgh to all of us away from home, and thank you so very much!
February 17th, 2007 at 11:50 am
Do you sell prints? I’d like a 16×20 print of the “Classic View” and “The Point fron the Duquene Incline”
February 17th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
Thanks to my cousin who keeps me up to date with fantastic photos from “the Burg.” My husband and I have been living in California since 1961 but we remain Steeler fans and always love to go downtown on our visits back “home.” I worked downtown for Pennsylvania Bell from 1956 to 1961–it was a glorious time.
February 17th, 2007 at 8:27 pm
Fantastic shots. I live in Rome now, am from Philadelphia and my mom and all her family are from the Burgh! I’ve been visitning my family in Pittsburgh a couple times a year since 1969 and love it! I rooted for the Steelers and Bucs for 10 years before I was old enough to realize I was supposed to root for my Iggles and Phils - I still love both city’s teams and it’s very rarely an issue! See ynz at PNC next summer.
February 17th, 2007 at 10:04 pm
I agree with Patty, I live in Florida also, 18 years, but the Burgh will and always will be home! I love the pictures and it makes me want to go back, snow and all!
February 18th, 2007 at 11:14 am
I like them because they remind me of my grandpa Russell who lives in Pittsburgh,PA.
February 18th, 2007 at 1:31 pm
THE PHOTOS ARE WONDERFUL BUT I MISSED SEEING SOME PHOTOS OF THE STRIP DISTRIC AND THE PHIPPS CONSERVATORY. PITTSBURGH IS THE GREATEST.
February 18th, 2007 at 9:57 pm
I love my hometown….I am a hop, skip, and a jump across the state now, but come home as often as possible…there is nothing better than coming around that last bend on the parkway and having dahntahn lite up in front of your eyes! I have to watch not to wreck the car as I take in all the lights and sights as I take the crosstown bridge over toward 279 (I do it so automatically, I don’t know if I got the route # right). Til I left Pgh 30+ years ago, I thought all people talked to everyone wherever you happened to be, street car stop, deli counter, walking down the street….Hey, how did I know the rest of the world wasn’t Pittsburgh friendly!!?? Love it, the pixs are great!
February 19th, 2007 at 12:22 am
Wow! I left the burgh in 67′ and have never gotten over it. If these pics don’t make a person homesick nothing will! My family is deceased but, I still make it back for visits with friends and to see the “best place in the world”! And, I love and support all of the burgh teams!
February 19th, 2007 at 11:57 am
GREAT PHOTOS,PHOTOS OF STRIP DISTRICK AND PHIPPS CONSERVOTRY WOULD BE WONDERFUL IF INCLUDED.
February 19th, 2007 at 1:13 pm
I was born in Pittsburgh in 1937 and watched Pittsburgh build the Alcoa Dome and Alcoa Building, Mellon Square, Point, Station Sq. and many other other wonders. The beauty of Pgh. is the merging of the old with the new so that Pgh. could keep it’s personality. I think that the photos presented here capture all of this. I moved to Californa in the 60’s but I manage to return to”HOME ” once a year and always have my radio tuned to WJAS and CHILLY BILLY. When you are born and grow up in Pgh, Pgh is always in your heart.
When people ask me what Pgh is like, I tell them it’s a “Litte big CITY with a very BIG heart.” Again thank “YOUZE” for Letting me share Pgh with YOUZE. Fred ( Chubby) Bergamasco in Palm Springs Calif.
February 19th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
Pittsburgh is the Heart of Home as both my husband and I moved to CA in 65 and then Oregon in 95 where we retired. We still have family in the Burg and I plan on visiting them sometime soon. My daddy and I walked thru the rubble when Ft Pitt was torn down to make way for the point as we gathered rocks along the area as we were building a home back then. Daddy worked in the J&L steel mill on the South Side from when he was 12 and the streets were always covered with this red dust but in spite of it all, the love and friendlyness of the people was always there and still is. South Park, Kennywood, the County Fairs all still exist and remain within my heart along with the walks across the bridges in the bitter cold of winter and the breezes of summer. The floods, water sking the rivers and watching out for the barges when you fell and all the changes show the growth of the city and the love which always remains in the friendly people and their hearts. There was never any racial tensions like CA had as everyone in the burg were people and equals. The HEART OF PITTSBURGH IS ITS PEOPLE! This beauty comes through the photos.

This site was forwarded to me by a family member and after viewing them I wished that I was back in Pittsburgh. California does (used to have) have nice weather year round but the PA scenery cannot be beat. I guess I will never be able to forget where I was born and raised. Since leaving home in 1957 to enter the service, I have been to Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, the Philipines and 40 of the 50 states and the mind keeps playing those days in PA. I really appreciate those of you with cameras for keeping PA in my heart. Thanks.
February 19th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
A friend of mine from Duquesne forwarded this to me. She is also a transplanted Pittsburgher here in Houston TX. I know everyone is sick of the snow by now but I will forever miss it. If my daughters were not here I would have been back home by now. I am from Liberty Boro and the saying there is you can take the girl out of the boro but you can’t take the boro out of the girl. Same with the burgh. My heart belongs to Pittsburgh and always will.
February 19th, 2007 at 8:32 pm
I am PROUD to be called a Pittsburgher. I have lived inFlorida for years, but return ”home” once a year. How I love the North Side.
February 20th, 2007 at 8:48 am
Great Pictures, makes be proud to be from Pittsburgh
These pictures are as beautiful as the people who live in Pittsburgh!!!
Thank You
February 20th, 2007 at 6:48 pm
I adopted Pittsburgh when I became a student at Duquesne University. I had never seen Pittsburgh until I showed up for my first class in 1964. I moved away over thirty years ago and I have traveled all over the country and still feel that Pittsburgh is one of the greatest cities in the world. The people are warm and friendly. Maybe I will move back some day.
February 20th, 2007 at 7:21 pm
This is Beautiful! I love to see my hometown like this!
P.S
(Hi to Mimi and Pap)
February 20th, 2007 at 10:17 pm
These photos captured the essence of the true beauty of Pittsburgh, a city of which I am proud to have called home! There is no place like home!!!
February 21st, 2007 at 8:32 am
What beautiful pictures. i’ve visited USA many times, but never to Pittsburgh. It seems so very sad, that so many people had to leave, to find work, elsewhere.
February 21st, 2007 at 11:41 am
Wow! These really make me miss home. The pictures of the PPG bldg. are stunning, this is my favorite bldg in the world. I live near NYC and am in and out of there all the time ,but they have nothing on Pgh. as far as beautiful skylines go. Thanks so much for these!
February 21st, 2007 at 8:58 pm
From a warm summer breeze at PNC Park, to the crisp night air at PPG ice rink,
I am proud to be a Pittsburgher and prove to the nation that we have reivented a great city, again!
Proud of our Steel past- and forging into the future in technology, health care and commercial opportunities!
ALL HAIL THE STEEL CITY!
February 22nd, 2007 at 7:38 am
Good Stuff!
February 22nd, 2007 at 8:41 pm
I love all the pictures! They really bring memories! I left Pittsburgh over 15 years ago. While I love living in Huntington Beach, CA, I really miss the people from back home! The people in Pittsburgh are the best/friendliest!! But I don’t miss the snow, ice, cold weather or humidity!! However, in CA during Lent, you can’t find a good fish sandwich or homemade pierogies!! They don’t even know what pierogies are out here!! I wish I could bring the weather from CA & the beach back to Pittsburgh — then I would have my ideal place to live!
February 22nd, 2007 at 11:56 pm
Great pictures!!!!! I left the “‘Burgh” for Austin, Tx recently but find myself missing the city more than I ever thought I would. Are prints of any of these photos available to purchase?
February 23rd, 2007 at 10:11 am

February 23rd, 2007 at 10:12 am
Wow, I lived in Bedford County all my life and have been to Pittsburgh many times but I never pictured it as being a beautiful place to live. These pictures give me a different light on Pittsburgh. We now live in Easton, Md.

Love the pictures — I have this site bookmarked — and STILL love getting it over and over again from friends and family. Have lived in Jacksonville, FL since 1984 — but still miss the ‘Burgh. But I do get back once a year for my high school reunion (YES, we have one EVERY year) !!! Love it — keep it up. The only thing I don’t love is the snow — except for maybe one day, sitting in front of a fireplace and looking at it our the window :):):)
February 23rd, 2007 at 2:43 pm
Thank you for sharing with everyone such amazing pictures of our beautiful city! I have been living away from home in New York for the last 8 years. These pictures make me want to give it all up, move back and find the “steel city” girl that left behind all those years ago… Heather, if by chance you read all the comments on this site…. Grab the kids, leave the Bay area and meet me on the 7th street bridge at sun set on your birthday. From then on it’s…. Sunday’s at Heinz Field hand in hand for the rest of our days. x
February 23rd, 2007 at 4:33 pm
This makes me so homesick for Pgh. Wonderful, Wonderful
February 24th, 2007 at 3:08 am
I wasn’t going to write, but couldn’t help myself. I, too, moved away to SO CAL in 1975 after graduating from Canevin High School. I have lots of family still in the burgh, and was just there in December, 2006. I had to wipe away a few tears while reading all the fond comments about the greatest city to be from! Sad, isn’t it that we had to leave to realize how proud we are of our hometown. Sad, again that people have to leave to find work. Where I grew up (Elliot), all I had to do to see the beautiful skyline was to walk up the hill (Steuben Street) to see the view from the West End Overlook! lynnie.belle@sbcglobal.net -
February 24th, 2007 at 3:38 pm
WELL…..what a recall…I was on the North Side…worked at Isaly’s Dairy Store, Federal Street and graduated from Perry High School in 1948. Do any of you recall this name? Born and raised in Ohio Twp….which is now an up and coming Community. Hope to get back some day!!! Remember OUR Pittsburgh is the ONLY Pittsburgh with an “H” on the end!!!
AGAIN….THE PICTURES ARE FANTASTIC. THANKS, AL
February 24th, 2007 at 5:58 pm
The pictures are truly beautiful. We have been gone for almost 30 years. Pittsburgh always makes you feel like you are from someplace special. Die hard Steeler fans and plenty of family still in the “burgh” we do try to come but we can’t do it as often as we would like. Thanks for the memories.
February 25th, 2007 at 9:01 am
A friend of my parents sent me this web page and it is just a beautiful site. I opened it on my birthday so it brought back memories of my life back home. My parents are buried in Mt. Pleasant so the last time I was home was 2 years ago for my birthday. The tree with the saying overlook was special since I grew up on Overlook Dr. Thanks for a beautiful birthday memory.
February 25th, 2007 at 2:23 pm
I have lived in Western NY, Pgh. & Miami, from where I moved back to Pgh. after six years. I never appreciated the hills and the trees while previously living here. Pittsburgh does have so much character as emphasized by Station Square, Troy Hill, the North Side, etc. These are some of the best views of the city that I have seen.
February 25th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
Pittsburgh was home for 35 years and still is home even though I’ve lived in Cleveland for 19yrs (the mistake on the lake). The Burgh will always be part of my soul. I get back there a often as I can.
February 25th, 2007 at 6:03 pm
Pittsburgh will always be home but live in Colorado now but miss the bridges and the green and the 3 rivers, Make it back at least once a year. Thanks to all who put these pics out there for all.
February 25th, 2007 at 6:35 pm
I had a fantastic re-visit through these superb pictures. It makes me want to visit again. F.C. Kent, England
February 26th, 2007 at 12:41 pm
I just moved back to Pittsburgh from Denver and everyone here asks “Why would you move to Pittsburgh from Denver???” It only takes a visit to this website to see why. I LOVE Pittsburgh! Denver didn’t have the rolling hills, lush vegetation, gorgeous rivers and panaromic skyline views from any of the amazing vantage points in Pittsburgh. Pittsburghers don’t realize what they have. Awesome pictures of an awesome city!!!
February 26th, 2007 at 9:53 pm
I’ve got five words to say……..WOW!! What a beautiful city!! Steve from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
February 27th, 2007 at 12:30 am
Gorgeous! Just beautiful. Although I am originally from Upstate NY, This is what I like to see in Pittsburgh.
February 27th, 2007 at 9:27 am
I grew up in da’Burgh and due to business left about 7 years ago - it will always be home. I lived in a few major cities, some even thought of as “desirable”. There truly is no place like Pittsburgh. It may not have the southern sunshine or Hollywood vibe but its people do and sometimes that is all ya need! The people are genuine, friendly and the city itself has a lot of character. Hopefully the City is still trying to help keep its character alive and provide more for people to do to keep and develop interest. Thanks to my friend D who sent the site and thanks for the virtual visit back home!
February 27th, 2007 at 10:12 am
Thank you so much!! Been in Florida almost 2 years now..and I miss the Burg big time!! Most of all, the Southside ..Marios, Heinz Field STEELERS RULE!!!!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CITY!!! I am honoured to come from such a great city!!!
February 27th, 2007 at 1:01 pm
Great shots. The burgh’s skyline is absolutely beautiful. Will be visiti
