Matt….are you using any HDR or tone mapping with producing these photos? As always, they look great once again. Hopefully in less than a month, you’ll be able to see another Super Bowl parade and post for displaced Pittsburghers.

    Hi Matt,
Great pictures, it’s been a while since i’ve visited the site. I notice a lot of people who leave replies are Pittsburghers who come here to get a little piece of home. It never ceases to amaze me how when people leave the city, they never forget where they came from and love the city the same as they always have, if not more. I am commenting as a native who still lives here and loves skyline/landscape pictures. Your work is great, keep on doing what you love. To everyone who has moved on and still loves to come back and visit: come back more often! we love it when you are in town!

    Go Steelers!

Matt, these pics are great, as usual. However, I have a suggestion. for next time why not show those of us living far away scenes of new construction sites that are underway. Even if they are not in their finished phases, it would be nice to see what’s going on, how the city is transforming. In addition, I remember the churches or cathedrals of Pittsburgh , especially those downtown that were flanked between skyscarpers. I think it would be great to see them again as only you are able to show us.
    Thanks!

Great great stuff. These photos only strengthen that sense of pride that all Pittsburghers undeniably feel. I love too that this allows non-Pittsburghers to see how amazing Pittsburgh is and change peoples’ “dirty town” perception that irritates me so badly. Keep it up.

    Hey Matt,
Love the pictures, but one thought you don,t seem to venture out of the city much why not get some pictures of the burg’s burb’s? They are often just as impressive as the city it’s self.

Matt, your photography is fantastic! Although I’m originally from Republic, a small town near Uniontown “down South”, we always considered ourselves a distant suburb. Even now, having lived near Cleveland for 45 years, your photos bring back fond memories and and a deep pride in the city of Pittsburgh, it’s people and their character.

    Go Steelers !

I hope that Pittsburgh leadership remembers that this is one of the few cities in the United States that has a substantial amount of older homes that offer a real charm of what inner city life can be in America. Unfortunately, most cities have already destroy the areas around the Downtown center to make way for freeways, imminent domain land grabs, expansion of enterprise zones, etc. I know some housing in Pittsburgh may be below standards, but it would be a worthwhile gesture to offer assistance to people to repair housing or business, thereby offering jobs and increasing tax bases for the entire city. Look around Pittsburgh, you may the last in the U.S. to fall. Of course, excellent photography!
